Professor Stanley Madonsela is a full professor and Chair of the Department of African Languages at the University of South Africa (UNISA). He has presented research papers at local and international conferences and is a seasoned researcher who has published extensively on language policy and planning and other language-related issues. Professor Madonsela’s other fields of interest are sociolinguistics, semantics, translation studies, forensic linguistics and court interpreting. Apart from his normal academic obligations, he is the Scientific Editor of a peer-reviewed journal that is accredited by the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) and has served on several language committees – such as the Gauteng Provincial Language Committee (GPLC) where he served as Deputy Chairperson.
