Kabelo Duncan Kgatea has a Diploma in Business Communications (Stanford Business College) and holds certificates in Comprehensive Writing, Journalism and Media Studies, Public Relations, and Public Relations Writing. He has also completed courses in Drama and Public Speaking and Feature Film Writing. He has translated two of Minnie Postman’s children’s books (In the beginning and Mosoeunyana the yellow girl) from English and Afrikaans to Setswana. He is a co-founder of Penebotshelo Writers Foundation, which conducts creative writing workshops for young writers at schools and helps them be published, and is a Creative Writing Workshop Facilitator, Editor, Translator and Proofreader at Penebotshelo Writers Forum and private publishers. He served as the Setswana Editor of the Anglo American Platinum in-house newspaper, Morongwa/The Messenger (2008-2009). He has written 14 Setswana radio dramas broadcasted by Motsweding FM, the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), and Radio Mmabatho (Bophuthatswana Broadcasting Corporation). His poems, stage plays and short stories are included in six anthologies.
