Sabata-mpho Mokae

Sabata-mpho Mokae is the author of a biography The Story of Sol T Plaatje (2010), Ga Ke Modisa (2012), Dikeledi (2014) and Moletlo wa Manong (2018). He is the winner of the South African Literary Award (2011), M-Net Literary Award for Best Novel in Setswana (2013) and the M-Net Film Award (2013). He has translated Gcina Mhlophe's two children's books, Semaka sa Dinaane (Our Story Magic) and Dinaane tsa Afrika (Stories of Africa), from English to Setswana. In 2014 he was a writer-in-residence at the University of Iowa in the United States where he was subsequently awarded Honorary Fellowship in Writing. He was also featured as a Writer of the Month in Accra, Ghana by the Writers Project of Ghana in September 2015. He is a creative writing lecturer at the Sol Plaatje University in Kimberley.
